Morning

Lying in bed,

Listening to cars drive past,

Faceless people,

Who’ve leapfrogged me into day,

Their beds long forgotten.

I’m waiting for sun to rise.

It’s light wanted,

To burn off the sadness,

That’s crushing my chest.

Too many thoughts,

Memories.

I don’t want to be awake today,

But I’ll climb out of bed,

Turn on music,

And look for beauty in the world.
