Jar Of Stones

photo (15)

There is a list.

Things you’ve said we’ll do one day.

Promises made in the moment.

But today they look like a jar of stones.

But heavy to carry as they grow.

And I think…

Maybe stones shouldn’t be kept in jars.

Maybe they should be admired where they’re found.

In that moment.

Because that’s where they’re the most beautiful.

In the jar they loose their luster.

You only see their weight.

And you stop remembering,

The beauty they came from.

Lie Beside Me

Lie beside me

In long meadow grass.

Let us cast a line,

To catch a passing plane.

A silver minnow,

Darting through vast blue.

And if it’s going somewhere cold,

We’ll throw it back,

And catch another.
